Let’s get this out of the way: Yes, these sweatpants are 100 percent pure Mongolian cashmere, and, yes, they’re $140. But we can’t stop thinking about them. For one, with Thanksgiving on Thursday (and then all the holiday cookies to come), we are officially entering stretchy-pants season. As we brace for all those trips home we take this time of year, they also just seem like some excellent pants to travel in; cashmere regulates temperature really well, which is key when dealing with the unpredictable air-conditioning on airplanes. While some sweatpants usually scream “schlubby,” these look pulled-together (sloungewear is a thing, trend forecasters tell us, as well as a go-to style of clothes to gift this holiday season). And if you consider that the average cashmere sweater costs at least $100, $140 doesn’t seem so bad for an entire pair of pants.
